Subject: Re: My sympathy to the family of Teacher Jenese

While she was in New York undergoing treatment, Jennis (btw, this is the correct spelling) told me with a smile in her voice that as long as she was not in pain, she was doing fine. But I was made aware of how desperate her situation had become, and much as I wanted Rivers to be wrong, deep inside I knew he was correct as a phone call confirmed.

Jennis Langaigne was still a young girl when I left home but on my return visits I was able to see her blossom as a young lady and the youngest sister of my dearest friends. My heart broke when her sister first told me of her ailment and we all prayed that she would be well again. But then as they say, whom the Gods love, die young.

We can at least take solace that Jennis is no longer in pain and is certainly at home with our Maker. My deepest and sincerest sympathy goes out to Teacher Ardis and Dr. Wright, her other sisters, Joan and Irva. I know how trying these times are so I pray that God give you all the strength to persevere. May she rest in peace.
